PENNY FOR YOUR THOUGHTS: POEM – DROP OF CANVAS

By Jack Wilkin

The rain came and kicked.
Stains of water where it licked.
My window just a painted canvas,
Where the brushes have been flicked.

Racing down faster and faster,
Even as the wind became harsher.
They are determined to roll down.
Turning into a water disaster.

Shaken out from above,
Peaceful signs (of a false dove),
Cause good and bad come of them.
Splash in puddles if good comes to shove.

Wrapped in coats, being attacked!
Under umbrellas badly packed.
As if one touch will leave a burn,
We all hide in our brick shack.
